| Deskripsi | This study aims to describe the types of animal name idioms in German and the semantic meanings contained in the lingual. This research method is descriptive qualitative. This study uses a document study approach. Document review is an approach that focuses on semantic and pragmatic analysis of written materials based on their context. The research data is in the form of German phrases and sentences that have idiomatic functions. Data collection techniques in this study used a corpus (Becker & Becker, 2013; Weininger, 2017). The data is collected from the online CQP Web which has millions of texts from various languages in the world. Data analysis used corpus linguistics (McEnery & Hardie, 2011). The results of the research produced findings that were different from the results of research that had been carried out by previous experts in searching for a variety of idioms for animal names and the meanings contained in them. Research on animal name idioms is rarely done by researchers. Supposing the analysis has been carried out using semantic analysis. In this study, corpus-based analysis is rarely carried out by other researchers. This shows an aspect of novelty in this study. This research is expected to have a wider impact on the use of idioms for animal names in German and their learning. |
